🎶 Live Performances & Family Fun
As soon as we arrived, we could hear the sound of drums and live music echoing across the park. The festival featured two main stage areas and pop-up performances throughout the day — from cultural dances and K-pop showcases to traditional Korean drumming. It was such a lively and fun experience!
There were plenty of open spaces around the park to relax, enjoy the entertainment, and let the kids play. Discovery Green’s shaded spots made it easy to take short breaks between activities — a must for family outings!
🍡 Food & Drinks We Tried
We couldn’t resist sampling some delicious food from the festival vendors!
- Chi’Lantro: We ordered the Steak Kimchi Fries for $15 — crispy fries topped with marinated steak, kimchi, and sauce. We love kimchi fries, so of course, we had to give them a try!
- The Teahouse: We grabbed a Dragon Fruit Lemonade and a Viet Coffee, both $9 each, and added boba to our coffee for an extra $1. The drinks were tasty and refreshing — perfect for a warm Houston afternoon!
We were also gifted two food entrees from festival promoters, which was such a fun surprise!
There were plenty of other food and dessert stands serving everything from Korean BBQ to sweet treats — perfect for families who love exploring new flavors together.
🎁 Souvenirs & Finds
The kids had fun exploring the vendor booths, and of course, we picked up a few souvenirs!
- 3 for $5 hair clips (super cute!)
- 2 wooden swords for $7 each
- A decorative parasol (umbrella) for $10
It’s always fun to take home a few keepsakes!
🚗 Parking & Tips
We parked at the Avenida Central Garage (1002 Avenida de las Americas) for $35. It was convenient and just a short walk to the park entrance.
💡 Family Tip: The vendors we shopped with all accepted card payments, which made things easy! Don’t forget to bring sun protection, and plan to stay for a few hours if you want to enjoy the performances, grab some food, and shop around without feeling rushed.
👨👩👧👦 Final Thoughts
We spent about three hours at the Korean Festival and loved every minute of it! It’s a wonderful way to experience Korean culture right in the heart of Houston — perfect for families, foodies, and anyone who loves live entertainment.
If you’re looking for a free, family-friendly event in Houston, the Korean Festival is definitely one to add to your list next year!
