We spent a day at Grapevine Mills Mall and visited both SEA LIFE Grapevine (last week’s blog!) and LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas / Fort Worth — with a fun lunch break at Rainforest Cafe, also right in the mall! It made for a full day of family fun, and we’d definitely recommend combining both attractions. The ease of being inside the mall made it such a breeze to hop from one spot to the next.
At LEGOLAND Discovery Center, we had a fantastic time! From epic LEGO rides to hands-on building zones and even the seasonal Pirate Beach splash park, there’s so much for kids to explore. Plus, the 4D theater, a miniature LEGO version of Dallas, and incredible LEGO artwork totally blew us away. If your family loves LEGO (and indoor fun, especially in that Texas heat), this is such a great spot to add to your DFW plans.
What We Loved
Indoors & climate-controlled (perfect year-round)
Pirate Beach — outdoor splash park (open seasonally)
Fun rides with reasonable lines (at least when we visited!)
Lots of hands-on LEGO building areas
Coffee shop inside (big win for parents ☕)
Tips for Visiting
Free parking at the mall
If you visit Pirate Beach, bring a change of clothes so you can re-enter the rest of the Discovery Center
Plan a full day if you’re pairing it with SEA LIFE and lunch — there’s plenty to do!
