Katie's Seafood House Galveston Review: Waterfront Dining & Fresh Seafood
We recently stopped at Katie's Seafood House for lunch while in Galveston, and this is one we will definitely be visiting again!
We visited for lunch on a Monday and asked to sit outside. We were seated right away at a table along the water, where we could watch the boats while we ate.
The food was amazing, everyone was friendly, and our whole family had a fantastic experience.
Katie's had a little bit of an upscale feel while still being really comfortable. It was a nice place to sit down for fresh seafood without feeling too fancy with three kids.

Our Experience at Katie's Seafood House
When we arrived, we found a free parking lot right in front of the restaurant. There was also paid parking available along the side.
The inside of Katie's looked really nice, but it was a beautiful day, so we asked to sit outside by the water and were seated right away.
Both the hostess and our waiter were friendly and helpful.
After we sat down, a staff member stopped by to take our drink order and told us a little about the restaurant and how they catch fresh fish each night. We loved hearing more about the restaurant and how fresh the seafood was.
We really enjoyed the whole experience. Fresh seafood by the water was such a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Galveston!
Waterfront Dining on Pier 19
If the weather is nice, I would absolutely ask to sit outside!
We sat right along the water and could watch the boats while we ate. The kids enjoyed watching everything going on, and we loved the waterfront setting.
Outside in front of the restaurant, we also found a historical marker for Pier 19 and the Mosquito Fleet Berth. The marker shares some of the history of this part of Galveston's waterfront and the fishing fleets that once docked here.
We always love finding little pieces of history while traveling, so this was a fun bonus.
What We Ordered at Katie's Seafood House
Butternut Crab Butter Bisque Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day Kids Fish Giggin’ Sticks Kids Mac ’N Cheese
We usually end up passing bites around the table when we eat somewhere new, so we were able to try a few things from the lunch menu.
Everything we tried was delicious!
Butternut Crab Butter Bisque
Okay, the Butternut Crab Butter Bisque was so good.
I ordered a cup, and it is honestly one of my favorite soups I've had to date. I will absolutely be ordering this again when we go back.
A cup was $9 during our August 2026 visit.
Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day
Kevin ordered the Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day.
It was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. This ended up being Kevin's favorite thing we tried.
The Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day was $26 during our visit.
Kids Fish Giggin’ Sticks
Katie’s has a kids menu, and two of our kids ordered the Fish Giggin’ Sticks, made with American red snapper and a corn flake crust.
These were definitely not your typical kids-menu fish sticks! The corn flake crust gave them a nice crunch, and the fish inside tasted fresh and delicious. Westin and Aubrey both loved them.
They also came with a choice of side. The kids picked fruit cups, and they were a hit too!
The Fish Giggin’ Sticks were $10 each during our visit.
Kids Mac ’N Cheese
We also ordered the Kids Mac ’N Cheese. It was very good and came with a choice of side. We chose the fries.

And Then There Was Dessert...
Massive Mint Chocolate Sundae
We ordered one Massive Mint Chocolate Sundae for all five of us to share.
It came with Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Andes Mints, mint cookies, and whipped cream.
One was plenty for everyone to share after lunch, and it tasted just as good as it looked!
The Massive Mint Chocolate Sundae was $15 during our visit.

That included the Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day, a cup of Butternut Crab Butter Bisque, two kids Fish Giggin’ Sticks meals, one kids Mac ’N Cheese, two kids juices, and the Massive Mint Chocolate Sundae we shared.
Prices can always change, but hopefully this gives you a good idea of what to expect.
Is Katie's Seafood House Good for Families?
We thought so!
They have a kids menu, everyone was friendly, and sitting outside by the water was great with the kids. The restaurant had a slightly nicer feel while still being relaxed enough that we felt comfortable bringing all three kids.

There is a free parking lot directly in front of Katie's, and that's where we parked. We also noticed paid parking available along the side.
We visited for lunch on a Monday and had no trouble finding a spot.

We didn't have a reservation when we visited for lunch on a Monday and were seated outside right away.
If we were planning to visit during a busy weekend or holiday, I would probably make a reservation ahead of time.
Would We Eat at Katie's Seafood House Again?
Absolutely!
I would order the Butternut Crab Butter Bisque again in a heartbeat, Kevin loved the Lunch Broiled Stuffed Fish of the Day, Westin and Aubrey loved the Fish Giggin’ Sticks, and Carter was all about that Massive Mint Chocolate Sundae.
We loved the fresh seafood, waterfront setting, and friendly service. We plan to visit Katie's Seafood House again!
