(Full Price Breakdown + Tips to Save)

If you’ve ever dreamed about visiting Kalahari Resorts in Round Rock, Texas, you’ve probably wondered — how much does it actually cost? We recently stayed here as a family of five, and today I’m breaking down exactly what we spent, what’s included, and a few easy ways to save on your own trip.

🏨 Our Stay Details

  • Location: Kalahari Resorts, Round Rock, TX

  • Dates: July 20–21, 2025 (1-night stay)

  • Guests: 5

  • Room Type: Double Queen Sofa Room

Our Double Queen Sofa Room had plenty of space for our family of five. It was clean, comfortable, and featured fun safari-themed touches that added to the overall resort vibe. The room included two queen beds and a pull-out sofa, sleeping up to six guests.

The room is definitely on the pricier side, but when you factor in indoor and outdoor waterpark passes for five people, we felt like it was a great overall value!

☕ Food & Dining

Food options are abundant at Kalahari — from casual grab-and-go to sit-down restaurants.

We grabbed lunch from the outdoor food truck while hanging out by the waterpark. It was super convenient, but if you wanted to save a bit, you could always bring your own snacks and take a quick pit stop back at your room.

For dinner, we tried MACS, and were really happy with both the food and value — definitely one we’d return to next time.

The next morning, we grabbed coffee from Java Manjaro, which was $17 for two mochas. The drinks were good, but you could easily save by bringing your own or grabbing coffee outside the resort. We paired ours with breakfast from Round Rock Donuts (we spent $21.22 there and had so much food!).

🎢 What’s Included in Your Stay

Your room rate includes:

  • Indoor & outdoor waterpark access for all registered guests

  • Resort amenities like Wi-Fi and parking

  • Access to resort activities (some, like Tom Fooleries Adventure Park, are extra)

Between the indoor and outdoor waterparks, our kids had plenty to do! We decided to skip Tom Fooleries this trip to save money — it looked super fun, but the waterpark alone kept us busy all day.

💡 Tips to Save on Your Kalahari Stay

1. Book weekday dates. Weekend rates are noticeably higher — weekday stays can save $100+ per night.

2. Bring your own food and drinks (for the room). Outside food isn’t allowed in the waterpark area, but you can store items in your room fridge and take breaks for snacks or meals.

3. Skip (or limit) the extras. Between Tom Fooleries, the arcade, cabanas, and shopping, you could easily spend much more. Setting a fun budget ahead of time helps.

4. Watch for promotions. Kalahari often runs deals like “Stay 2 nights, get 1 free” on their website. Signing up for their email list can help you catch those.

5. Share a suite with friends or family. Many rooms are large enough to share — splitting costs can make a big difference!

🧳 Was It Worth It?

For around $620 total, we got a full family getaway with a huge indoor and outdoor waterpark, comfortable accommodations, and tons to explore. Between the theming, waterpark, and on-site dining, Kalahari truly feels like a mini family vacation under one roof.

If you’re trying to keep costs down, focus on weekday stays and bring your own snacks — but even with a few splurges, it’s a fantastic family experience we’d absolutely do again!

💬 Final Thoughts

Overall, our Kalahari trip was the perfect mix of fun, relaxation, and adventure. You could definitely spend more here if you want to splurge, but even on a budget, it’s an awesome family trip.
