Looking for a family-friendly getaway where you can relax, recharge, and take in some stunning Colorado views? Our family recently stayed at The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs, and it was everything we hoped for!

In this post, we’re sharing what it’s like to stay overnight at this beautiful hot springs resort, including a look inside our room, tips for making the most of your visit, and why it’s a perfect stop on a Colorado road trip.

Why We Chose The Springs Resort

The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs, Colorado is home to the Guinness World Record’s World’s Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring—a fun and fitting stop on our road trip journey! (Lately, we’ve been on a bit of a mission to see the “World’s Largest” and most unique attractions, so this was a perfect addition to our sightseeing list.)

Beyond the record-breaking spring, The Springs Resort offers a beautiful variety of soaking pools at different temperatures, all nestled along the scenic San Juan River. With both family-friendly pools and peaceful 21+ areas, it’s a wonderful retreat for all types of travelers.

After a few busy weeks on the road, this was the ideal place for our family to unwind and recharge.

Where We Stayed: The Lodge Building

We stayed in one of the rooms in the Lodge Building, which gave us cozy accommodations just steps from the pools. The resort offers unlimited soaking access for overnight guests — including early morning and evening hours when the pools are quieter and extra magical. 🌅

Family-Friendly Highlights

Our crew loved checking out the fascinating formations created by the hot springs’ mineral deposits, enjoying the variety of pool temperatures, soaking in the scenic riverfront views, and exploring the charming town of Pagosa Springs.

Just a short 2-minute drive (or 7-minute walk) from the resort, we found Pagosa Springs Town Park, which has a great playground—perfect for helping the kids get some extra wiggles out!

Tips for Visiting The Springs Resort

🧖‍♀️ Complimentary Robes & Towels

Guests are provided with plush robes and towels during their stay—just be sure to return them to avoid any extra charges!

💧 Stay Hydrated

It’s easy to get dehydrated while soaking, especially at higher elevations—so remember to drink plenty of water throughout your visit.

👶 Kid-Friendly Soaking

If you're visiting with kids, be sure to check the resort map for family-friendly pools. While each soaking pool has a temperature sign out front, we noticed the actual water temps can vary a bit. We recommend having an adult test the water first before the whole crew hops in—just to be safe and comfortable!

Final Thoughts

The Springs Resort was such a relaxing and unique stop during our time in Colorado! While the mineral pools are wonderfully peaceful for adults, we truly believe this resort is also a fantastic getaway for families with kids.

If you’re looking for a laid-back mix of wellness, nature, and quality family time, we highly recommend adding The Springs Resort to your travel plans.
