Looking for a family-friendly Halloween event in San Antonio? 🎃 SeaWorld San Antonio’s Spooktacular is the perfect daytime celebration for kids—with trick-or-treating, themed activities, festive décor, and all your favorite rides. No frights here, just fun!
Our family spent a full day at Spooktacular — and survived with candy, memories, and even a Texas rainstorm to prove it. Here are the five most epic moments from our day at SeaWorld San Antonio Spooktacular 2025.
What is SeaWorld Spooktacular San Antonio?
SeaWorld’s Spooktacular is a kid-friendly Halloween event included with regular admission (or your Season Pass). Families can enjoy:
Trick-or-treating throughout the park
Special Halloween-themed activities and décor
Kid-approved rides and shows
Themed play areas like Rescue Jr.
It’s a Halloween event for families in San Antonio that’s festive, safe, and perfect for little ghouls and goblins.
1. Trick-or-Treating Through the Park 🍬
SeaWorld goes all out for Halloween! Trick-or-treat stations are scattered throughout the park, and the kids had a blast filling their bags. Trick-or-treating is included with admission for guests 12 and under, and we purchased the reusable candy bags for $3.99 each.
The Halloween maze was an extra highlight—fun and just the right amount of “spooky” for kids.
2. Beach Rescue Racer 🎢
The new Rescue Jr. play area is full of family fun, but the Beach Rescue Racer stood out. It’s the perfect first roller coaster for younger kids dipping their toes into thrills. Both of ours gave it a huge thumbs up.
3. First-Timers on the Steel Eel 🎢
Big milestone moment! Kevin and Aubrey braved the Steel Eel hypercoaster for the very first time. Watching them conquer this iconic ride was unforgettable — and a reminder that kids grow into big thrills faster than you expect.
4. Wave Breaker Adventure 🌊
The “firsts” kept coming! Kevin and Westin hopped on Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster for their maiden voyage. The jet ski–style launch over the water is such a fun experience.
5. A Calm Ride on the Ocean Quest Express 🚂
After so many thrills, we were thankful for a quieter break. The Ocean Quest Express (a sweet little train ride in Rescue Jr.) was nearly empty, giving us a few minutes to relax and recharge together.
The Final Challenge – A Texas Rainstorm! 🌧
We wrapped up the day with one last challenge: walking through a rainstorm back to the gift shop. The result? Three bags of candy, wet clothes, tired feet… and zero meltdowns. That’s a family victory in our book!
Important Costume Guidelines 🎭
“All guests are welcome to dress up in costumes. Costume masks and hoods are not allowed, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park artists.”
So yes — let your kids dress up! Just plan costumes around these rules.
Is SeaWorld Spooktacular Worth It for Families? 💡
For our family, the answer is a big YES! Since Spooktacular is included with admission, it’s a fun, festive way to celebrate Halloween while still enjoying everything else the park offers: coasters, splash areas, animal encounters, and more.
We have Season Passes to SeaWorld San Antonio, and Spooktacular adds extra value without any extra cost.
