We recently spent the day at Push Start Play in Lewisville, Texas, and when I say the day, I mean it! We ended up staying for around seven hours.
We've visited plenty of arcades as a family, but we've never spent this long at one before. Our two older kids still weren't ready to leave and probably would have stayed until closing if we'd let them!
One of the things that makes Push Start Play different from a traditional arcade is that hundreds of games are included with unlimited play. Instead of watching your credits disappear every time you need another life or want to continue playing, you can simply push a button and keep going.
We were invited to experience Push Start Play during our visit to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and our whole family really enjoyed the experience. Here's what you can expect when visiting Push Start Play in Lewisville, Texas.
Disclosure: Our family received complimentary admission and pizza during our visit to Push Start Play. As always, all opinions are our own.

What Is Push Start Play?
Push Start Play is a large indoor arcade and family entertainment center in Lewisville, Texas, with hundreds of games, including classic arcade games, newer interactive games, racing games and premium games and attractions.
At first we saw the main arcade area with rows and rows of games, and it seemed like that could easily be the entire arcade.
But there was more!
Toward the back, we found another smaller section with additional games. Then, heading all the way over to the other side, there was another huge area filled with even more arcade games and party rooms.
The place was massive and had more arcade games than we've ever seen together in one place.
How Unlimited Play Works at Push Start Play
This was probably our favorite part of the entire Push Start Play experience.
When you arrive, you'll check in at the front counter and receive a wristband for the free-play games included with your admission.
Hundreds of arcade games are set to free play. Instead of loading credits onto a card and paying each time you want to play, you simply walk up to an included game, push the button and start playing.
Lose a life? Push the button and continue.
Want to play another round? Push the button again.
This made such a difference in how we experienced the arcade. There were games where we were able to play through multiple levels that we probably never would have completed at a traditional arcade because we would have needed to keep spending additional credits just to continue.
It also gave everyone the freedom to try different games without worrying about whether they were going to like them. If something looked fun, we could just walk up and play.
With three kids, not having to think about the cost of every single game was really nice!
Play Portal Levels and Premium Games

At the time of our visit, Push Start Play offered two Play Portal options.
Current prices as of September 4, 2026, listed on the Push Start Play website are:
Play Portal Level 1 – $12: Includes unlimited access to more than 400 games set to free play. Premium games require additional points, which can be purchased separately.
Play Portal Level 2 – $15: Includes unlimited access to more than 400 games set to free play, plus a Game Card preloaded with 20 credits that can be used toward premium games.
Premium games include crane machines, pinball, ticket games, VR, and more. Additional points can also be purchased during your visit.
Prices are subject to change. Check the Push Start Play website for current pricing before visiting.
Games at Push Start Play
There were so many games at Push Start Play that I couldn't possibly list everything we saw!
Our family played several driving games, motorcycle games, Jurassic Park, dance games, rhythm and interactive games, classic arcade games and plenty more.
One thing we especially liked was the combination of old and new games. There were classic arcade games that adults will recognize alongside newer games that immediately caught our kids' attention.
There were also tons of racing and driving games, which were especially popular with our family.
Because so many of the games were included with unlimited play, we could bounce around the arcade trying whatever caught our attention. And if we found one we really liked, we could play it over and over again.
That unlimited-play setup was a huge part of why it was so easy for us to spend nearly the entire day here.
Premium Games and VR
We also tried a couple of the premium experiences during our visit.
Carter tried an interactive dinosaur ride that moved along with what was happening on the screen. He had a blast riding along while the dinosaur ran through the game.
Westin and Aubrey tried one of the VR experiences together, where they put on VR headsets and went along for a virtual ride.
Both premium experiences were a hit!
There were plenty of other premium games available throughout the arcade as well, including basketball, carnival-style games, claw machines, ticket games and more.
If you want to try more premium games than the points included with your admission cover, additional points can be purchased separately.
Food at Push Start Play

After spending hours playing games, we were definitely ready for something to eat!
Push Start Play has a food and seating area located near the center of the first section of the arcade. There are tables throughout the area with QR codes that you can scan to view the menu and place your order from your phone.
Once your food is ready, they bring it out to your table, which made it really easy to take a break without having to leave the arcade.
We ordered a large pizza with half cheese for the kids and half Hot Honey Pepperoni for the adults. We all thought it was really tasty! They also had cheese and crushed red pepper available to add to the pizza.
We opted for water during our visit, but Push Start Play also offers fountain drinks with free refills.
We ordered our pizza later in the day after the arcade had gotten busier, and our food was still prepared and brought out surprisingly quickly.
What Was the Crowd Like?
We visited Push Start Play on a Sunday and arrived at around 11 a.m.
The arcade was very mellow during the morning, and we could easily move between games and play whatever caught our attention.
It became noticeably busier as the day went on, but with so many games available, there were still more than enough games for everyone to play. We never felt like the larger afternoon crowd took away from our experience.
If you prefer a quieter arcade experience, based on our visit, arriving earlier in the day worked really well. But even as it got busier, there was still plenty to do without feeling crowded out of the games.
A Great Indoor Activity in DFW for Hot or Rainy Days
Push Start Play is also a great indoor activity in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
When we got back to our vehicle after our visit, the car was showing an outside temperature of 110°F. You never would have known it while we were inside!
The air conditioning kept the arcade cool and comfortable throughout our entire visit.
That makes Push Start Play a great indoor option for those extremely hot Texas summer days, but it would also be an easy activity to keep in mind when rain ruins your outdoor plans.

What Else to Know Before Visiting Push Start Play
We were impressed with how clean and well maintained Push Start Play was during our visit.
The arcade games we played were in great working order, the restrooms were very well kept, and there was plenty of hand sanitizer available throughout the arcade.
We also noticed lots of small tabletops around the gaming areas. These were really convenient for setting down drinks while everyone played.
The staff members we interacted with were very friendly throughout our visit as well.
Push Start Play is cashless, so make sure you have a credit or debit card with you.
There's also a large parking lot directly in front of the arcade, and parking was free during our visit.
Is Push Start Play Good for Kids?
We say, yes!
Push Start Play was fantastic for our family. There was enough variety to keep our kids entertained for hours.
Between the classic games, racing games, interactive games, newer arcade games and premium experiences, each of our kids found plenty that they wanted to play.
Our two older kids were still going strong after around seven hours and weren't ready to leave!
Parents can have fun here too! There were plenty of games that we enjoyed playing too.
How Long Should You Spend at Push Start Play?
You could easily spend all day at Push Start Play!
We didn't expect to spend nearly the entire day there, but the unlimited-play setup made it incredibly easy to keep going. Instead of playing a few games until our credits were gone, we could explore the arcade, replay our favorites and actually make our way through multiple levels.
We ended up spending around seven hours at Push Start Play, and our older kids probably would have stayed until closing if they could!
If your family loves arcades, I'd leave plenty of time in your schedule and see where the day takes you.
