We enjoyed walking around the zoo and viewing the beautiful holiday decorations! Some standouts for our kids were the bubbles inside the Gorilla/Ape area and the Snowy Slopes (pretend snow area)!

Join us for a trip to the Houston Interactive Aquarium & Animal Preserve! We had a fantastic time interacting with the animals and exploring the preserve! It was truly a hands-on experience! By the end of our trip, we were all sold on purchasing an annual pass and look forward to returning :)

Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary
Join us on a trip to Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary in Houston, Texas! We loved exploring the native nature and walking trails! You wouldn't believe this beautiful sanctuary is found right inside a Houston neighborhood! This was our first time visiting and we were very impressed; we think this is a great spot to enjoy a peaceful hike in Houston!
The Pit Room in Houston Texas
We recently have been craving some barbeque and saw The Pit Room in Houston, Texas, on Food Networks ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’ with Guy Fieri and had to check it out! There was a line to get in, but the Wagyu Beef Ribs, Brisket Taco, and Potato Salad were all amazing and worth the wait! We will definitely visit again :)

Hiking near Houston
Join us this week as we hike to Lake Conroe from Trailhead #6 on the Lone Star Hiking Trail in the Sam Houston National Forest! Our hike from the parking lot to the lake was only .6 of a mile and offered stunning forest views, we think this is a beautiful hiking option if you are in the Greater Houston area!
Sam Houston National Forest
This week, we visit Sam Houston National Forest! We travel down a dirt road to park at the Big Creek Scenic Area and set off on a family hike. We hike along the Lone Star Trail, the White Oak Trail, and a very short while along the Big Creek Trail before returning to the parking lot. We love this beautiful area of the Sam Houston National Forest. Every time we have visited, it has been very peaceful. We recommend this area if you are looking for calm (and free!) hiking trails near Houston, Texas!
World’s Longest Car Wash
We go through the world's longest car wash at Buc-ee's in Katy, Texas! Check out our video to see how long it takes to go through the world's longest car wash! :)
We also make a quick stop for fuel, souvenirs, and snacks!

Houston Museum of Natural Science
Join us for a short trip to the main level of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, in Houston Texas! During the Holiday season you can see some beautiful decorations, as well as the Trains Over Texas Exhibit! We will also pop into the Morian Hall of Paleontology for views of the amazing fossils!
Kemah Boardwalk
Join us for a trip to Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, Texas! We visit on a Thursday night to check out Rock The Dock Summer Concert Series! Before checking out the concert, we have dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and enjoy a beautiful water view. We hit some road construction on the way in and had a bit of an experience getting to the boardwalk, lol.
Beach Camping in Texas
Join us this week for a family camping trip to the beautiful Brazoria County Public Beach and Nature Preserve! This is one of our family's favorite places to camp near Houston, Texas, and you gotta love that it is free! We love the drive-on beach with plenty of space to cruise and find a peaceful camping spot. The tranquility of waking up to the sun rise over the Gulf Coast is hard to beat! Another bonus is the excellent cell phone reception, close proximity to Surfside Beach, and being located just a little over an hour from Downtown Houston!
